I will say that Lunatics is testing a Unified Installer to take care of most Windows 32bit and 64bit MultiBeam, Cuda and Astropulse installations (user selectable).

Shortly this thread will be Unsticked, as it has been replaced.

Now that Dotsch has released the AP v5 applications for OS X I can get PPC machines rolling with the full combined packages.

This contains the AK V8 app for Multibeam, the AP 5.0 app and the new AP v5 app with a app_info.xml file.

Instructions are included in a read-me.

Intel Macs will be coming as soon as the optimized app is released.

Hi Everyone,
      A Linux port of Alex Kan's version 8 (nographics) SETI@Home optimised application has been released.

This release offers significantly improved performance for SSE3 capable (or Higher) PC's Running either 32 or 64 Bit versions of Linux.

Here are individual links for all the initial release builds:

Linux 32 SSE3, SSSE3 Science App:

Linux 32 SSE3 AMD/Intel Compatible Science App:
Intended for Intel & AMD CPUs, running 32 bit Linux,  that have SSE3 capability.

1 - Linux 32 bit AK v8.0 SSE3 (AMD/INTEL) or (Mirror)

Linux 32 SSSE3 Intel-only Compatible Science App:
Intended for Intel CPUs, running 32 bit Linux, that have SSSE3 capability.

2 - Linux 32 bit AK v8.0 SSSE3x (Intel Only) or (Mirror)

Linux 64 SSE3, SSSE3 Science App:

Linux 64 SSE3 AMD/Intel Compatible Science App:
Intended for Intel & AMD CPUs, running 64 bit Linux, that have SSE3 capability.

3 - Linux 64 bit AK v8.0 SSE3 (AMD/INTEL) or (Mirror)

Linux 64 SSSE3 Intel-only Compatible Science App:
Intended for Intel CPUs, running 64 bit Linux, that have SSSE3 capability.

4 - Linux 64 bit AK v8.0 SSSE3x (Intel Only) or (Mirror)

This is not a required update, and there will be some known issues and warnings to be aware of:
- Ensure you choose a build that your CPU/OS will support.  Ask for help If you need assistance determining this.
- Ensure Boinc & seti@Home applications are already properly functioning on your machine, read carefully the documentation readmes and installation instructions.
Known issues:
- There is no graphics support at this time
- There is no support for CPUs below SSE3 capability
- Borderline OC'ers be aware that you may need to back off to maintain stability, the increased throughput of this application will stress all system components more. 
- As Always, OC and use these apps AT YOUR OWN RISK.

A 32 bit SSE2 app has just been released and is available from The Lunatics 32 bit download page...
A 64 bit version is still being worked on, as is a SSE only version.

Crunch3r's page, http://calbe.dw70.de/seti.html, has the most recent stable builds from the Chicken/lunatics sources for:
- Linux x86, x86_64
- Windows IA64, x86, x86_64

For those running Windows Vista, those are the only usable versions from lunatics.at code.

Crunch3r's builds also have the adjustable LOAD_STORE_ADJUSTMENT credit multiplier value, so if the project activates that feature after stock 6.x apps are released here an upgrade shouldn't be necessary. Builds from http://lunatics.kwsn.net/ do not have that feature.

Crunch3r's builds are missing two minor features, the inclusion of what signals were found when there's a result_overflow and checking of speeds of cache and memory transfers.

Let me know if anything goes wrong. It was kind of a mad scramble today to unify the source bases and get everything built, so it's entirely possible that I may have overlooked something in all the craziness.

No, I didn't forget about all of you, but as time went on, it became easier to just do small-scale (rather than real-world) testing. Also, it eventually became clear to me that if I was going to be a perfectionist about this, I would never wind up releasing anything. So, without further ado...here's v8!

Note that there are two different Core 2 apps now, one for C2D machines, and one for Xeons. It was thanks to my pretesters that I recognized that the performance characteristics of Mac Pros are sufficiently different from iMacs and MacBooks to merit their own separate builds. Hopefully this app will also address whatever other smaller issues people were seeing, since all of them are now built against more recently BOINC libraries, and should all have their app icons properly baked in.

Source code to this release is also available. Note that there are two separate Xcode projects (since I build with different compilers and libraries depending on whether I'm building for PowerPC or Intel), but all the source code should be the same.
